Meg and I thought of, filmed and edited this short within 2 weeks. The film is based on true events that happened at our high school (the hand as a measuring tool), so we thought it would be the best story we had to fit the criteria. The film is about flipping the gender norms – girls “should” wear skirts and boys pants, girls “should” wear pink and boys should wear blue, however we flip this on its head with the girl’s always wearing blue and one of the boy’s jocks in the change room being hot pink! After seeing these young people at our old school in 2018 begin to challenge these restrictive norms, we wanted to pay homage to their confidence and strength, and maybe inspire more people to stick it to the man!
