'Wait' was inspired by the death of my Grandmother and the helplessness I felt being on the other side of the world to the rest of my family.
The short film was shot on a Sony Experia Compact and the sound was recorded on an attachable mobile phone mic.
The story is about waking up to a voicemail explaining that things have got worse and it is just a matter of time before hearing the inevitable. The character tries to keep away from her own thoughts. She is wearing a hot pink sports bra which represents her strength. The hot pink water bottle represents the contained emotion and we chose both of those things to be linked.
The sound was mainly foley and we wanted it to sound a little disjointed to make the audience feel subtly uncomfortable.
This story is very personal and we would like to thank Powershorts for making us realise we can make films without a budget and expensive resources.
